I want to report that we had a great turnout for Ladies' Night Out on Thursday, October 6th at Domenic's Pizzeria.  We'd like to extend a big Thank You to our hosts for providing delicious pizza for us.  It was fantastic to see some of our new members there getting to know some of our long-standing members.

We invite SWC members and friends to our annual

Santa Fe Steakhouse Wine Dinner

$30 for members, $35 for non-members

This event is always a fun, fall, night out with a delicious four-course meal and fantastic wine pairings.  There will be a guest to advise on the wines to be served with dinner. There will also be some exciting twists to this year's event.  You'll have to attend to find out just what it's all about!

No need to send money ahead of time, but please RSVP to Kim at: kgaines81@yahoo.com before October 18th.  Regrets are not necessary, but if you're planning to attend, please advise her of your entree preference.  In case the idea of a night out doesn't sound good enough, check out the incredible menu they have prepared for us!

Appetizers

Fruit and Vermont cheese platter

Fresh mescalin greens topped with cranberries and toasted almonds served with a champagne vinaigrette dressing

Chateaubriand, sliced beef tenderloin with a cabernet demi-glaze, served with fresh seasonal vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes

Baked tornado of sole, stuffed with crawfish, spinach, and Vermont cheddar, finished with a chipotle mornay sauce, served with seasonal vegetables and rice

Autumn vegetable risotto, roasted butternut squash, red peppers, parsnip, mushrooms, and asiago cheese

Locally grown apples baked and topped with homemade crumble crust, served warm and ala mode

Book Club Reminder

Thurs, Oct 13th at 6:30 PM

We will be meeting at the home of Joan Wise to discuss The Lotus Eaters, by Tatiana Soli and Drawing In The Dust, by Zoe Klein.

For new members to SWC, we invite you to come along for a great, informal evening for book lovers. This is how the evening goes:  The host will provide beverages; guests bring along a snack to share; after a short time of enjoying our drinks and snacks we get comfortable and discuss the books.

If you plan on joining us for the evening, please call Joan so she has an idea of how many people will be attending.
