Thank You for a Successful Fundraiser!

The SWC would like to thank the greater-Killington community for its generous support of the SWC Annual Fundraiser, which included raffle-ticket sales and a culminating raffle-ticket-drawing party, which was held at On The Rocs on Saturday, April 9th, 2011.  The SWC raised over $4100, all of which we look forward to giving away to local charities at our 2011 Disbursements Meeting at Jennifer Iannantuoni's house on Thursday, May 12th at 6:30 PM (see details below).

The SWC extends a BIG THANK YOU to the entire community, with special thanks to all of the Sherburne Women's Club Board members, as well as to Jeannette MacKenzie, Hannah Abrams, Karen Anderson, and Christa Mohr for their efforts.  We would also like to thank Jamie Segarra, Ron Amadeo, Chris Franco, and his staff at On The Rocs for hosting the event.

Visit our Photo Gallery at www.swcvt.com/apps/photos/ to see photos of the evening, which will be posted soon.

Circus Smirkus:

Sponsored by the EDT, Circus Smirkus will come to Killington on August 14 & 15 for four shows at Pico Mountain.  This unique circus experience features talented youth performers, ages 8-18.

Through the Circus Smirkus Homestay Program, community members are paired with Troupers, providing the child performers a safe and welcoming home during their time away and from the show site.  There is a need for families who can host the performers in their homes.  Hosts would provide meals, a quiet location to sleep and wind down after shows, and ensure transportation to/from Pico Mountain in a safe and timely manner.  The EDT is overseeing the Homestay Program and is in search of at least 15 Homestay Families to host at least two troupers each for the three nights of August 13, 14, and 15.

For more information, or if you're interested in hosting youth performers, please contact Meg Horrocks at the EDT at 422-2146 or Meg@town.killington.vt.us.
